2003 Golf Challenge

Scoring system

Entrants must fill in the entry form in an attempt to score most points.

On the entry form, entrants predict which golfer they think will gain the most points during the season.
Entrants then predict which golfer will be the runners up.
Complete the entry form, stongest to weakest so that each golfer is in a position and each position has a different golfer.

Each golfer and entrant starts with zero, on 14.4.03.
An entrant's score is the sum of each golfer's points multiplied
by the entrant's rating of the golfer.

If golfer A scores 10 points.
Entrants rating golfer A as their top golfer score 20 times golfer A's score ie 200 points.
Entrants rating golfer A as 2nd best, score only 19 times golfer A's score ie 180 points.
Entrants rating golfer A in any other position score points as per the multiplication factors

How the golfers accrue points
This FF scoring system mimics the scores achieved by the golfers. Should any of the selected golfers reach any of the positions which score points, these will be added to his total. If our selected golfers do not fill any position, those points will not be awarded

  • For each shot under par at the end of selected tournaments, a golfer scores 1 point.
  • For missing the cut, the golfer is awarded -10 points
  • Golfers missing a tournament will be awarded 0 points for the tournament

  • The winner of any of the selected tournaments scores 50 bonus points
  • The runner up scores 40 points
  • The 3rd placed player gains 30 points
  • The 4th placed player gains 25 points
  • The 5th placed player gains 20 points
  • The 6th placed player gains 15 points
  • The 7th placed player gains 10 points
  • The 8th placed player gains 5 points
  • The 9th placed player gains 3 points
  • The 10th placed player gains 1 points

    As per official rulings.
The game scores will be amended should official amendments apply before midnight on the final day of the event

    Bonus questions
Bonus questions will be posed before each tournament and before the final round of the event.
Throughout the season each entrant, who has provided a valid email address, will be mailed with a question about the forthcoming golfing action. It is fun and interactive. Each entrant hits a link within the email, makes a prediction, which if correct, will add points to that entrant's total score.

Bonus questions will have varying values. They do not need to be answered to win the challenge but they do form part of your total score.

Entries cannot be changed after the database has accepted predictions.
This rule applies to original game predictions and bonus question answers.
